Wearing Masks Is Mandatory When Using Rest Areas

The Korea Expressway Corporation's Honam Expressway Baekyangsa (Suncheon direction) Rest Area is thoroughly preparing to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the upcoming Chuseok holiday in accordance with the Korea Expressway Corporation's guidelines (Strengthened Rest Area Quarantine Measures for Chuseok Holiday).

During this Chuseok holiday period (from September 29 to October 4), wearing a mask is mandatory to enter the rest area. To strengthen quarantine measures and reduce congestion, the entrance and exit will be operated separately, and dedicated staff will be assigned at the entry and exit points to conduct temperature checks and manage visitors.

Additionally, seating inside the stores will be suspended, so eating indoors is not allowed, and only takeout is permitted. Accordingly, food purchased at the rest area should be consumed inside vehicles.

Song Haegil, the manager of Baekyangsa Rest Area, stated, “During the holiday period when customer usage is concentrated, please minimize the time spent indoors to prevent infection, and be sure to wear masks and maintain social distancing when using the rest area.”
