Establishment of Disaster Cooperation System and Donation of 100 Sets of Residential Firefighting Equipment

Suncheon Fire Station and Korea Electric Power Corporation Suncheon Branch Sign Business Agreement


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon Fire Station (Chief Ha Soo-cheol) announced on the 23rd that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea Electric Power Corporation Suncheon Branch (Branch Manager Song Jae-dong) to establish a disaster cooperation system and supply residential fire safety equipment.


At the residential fire safety equipment donation ceremony, Song Jae-dong, Branch Manager of Korea Electric Power Suncheon Branch, handed over fire extinguishers worth 4 million KRW and 100 sets of standalone smoke detectors to Ha Soo-cheol, Chief of Suncheon Fire Station.


The donated fire extinguishers will be prioritized for distribution to low-income households, elderly living alone, and disabled households to prevent residential fires.


Additionally, an MOU was signed to establish a cooperation system to minimize human and property damage in the event of various disasters and accidents.


Through the agreement, both parties will ▲ share data and technology for disaster and accident prevention ▲ share information through fire and electrical facility field experiences and education ▲ operate a cooperation system for equipment, materials, and manpower during disasters, thereby fostering a close cooperative relationship and leading the establishment of a safety culture.


Branch Manager Song Jae-dong said, “As part of our community contribution activities, we have joined the project to supply residential fire safety equipment to fire-vulnerable groups,” adding, “The donated items were collected through employee donations, and we hope they will help prevent residential fires.”


Fire Station Chief Ha Soo-cheol expressed deep gratitude to the employees of Korea Electric Power Suncheon Branch for donating fire safety equipment to prevent residential fires, stating, “Through the MOU with Korea Electric Power, a close cooperation system will enable faster and more efficient disaster response in the event of fires and other disasters, and we will do our best to create a safe city.”
