[Asia Economy Reporter Heeyoon Kim] The Korea Venture Business Association selects and introduces five outstanding venture companies online every month. This month, companies possessing promising technologies in core industries of the 4th Industrial Revolution and the post-COVID-19 era were chosen.
On the 23rd, the Korea Venture Business Association announced that it had selected a total of five companies as excellent venture firms for September: ▲Autonomous A2Z ▲Dot ▲Alchera ▲Volt Creation ▲Dr. Guide.
Autonomous A2Z, selected as a promising venture company in the autonomous vehicle solution sector, is expanding its business into automation and unmanned operations based on differentiated autonomous driving technology. Starting as a startup within Kyungil University in 2018, it has produced and operated more than 10 autonomous vehicles to date. Based on this, the company has demonstrated various achievements, including being selected as one of the BIG3 in the autonomous driving sector by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' Future New Industry program.
Dot, a developer of braille smartwatches, is a company striving to solve social issues by developing kiosks (unmanned terminals) that are convenient for people with disabilities and the elderly. It is a company with high expertise in the domestic and international haptic (tactile) display field, producing all products domestically based on 116 patents. It has attracted a total investment of 12.6 billion KRW from institutions including the Korea Development Bank.
Alchera, an artificial intelligence (AI)-based facial recognition company, plans to launch next month a system capable of managing safety and access control in large-scale facilities. This product can complement the potential COVID-19 transmission risks associated with manual temperature measurement methods. Alchera has applied for preliminary listing review in June and is pursuing a KOSDAQ listing.
Volt Creation possesses core technology for manufacturing fine metal masks, essential components used in the semiconductor and display sectors. Recently, it developed a mask filter with micro-holes processed on a polymer filter and launched the 'Face Bio Guard.' Sales have begun on Naver Store as well as in Japan and the United States.
Dr. Guide is a company providing a service that allows patients to receive medication delivery from pharmacies after non-face-to-face medical consultations. It has established a '30-minute safe delivery' service through contracts with domestic delivery companies. The company is also working to enhance security by acquiring patents to improve the security of prescription transmission technology.
Kim Jin-hyung, the full-time vice chairman of the Korea Venture Business Association, said, "As untact marketing has become essential due to COVID-19, we have held an online 'Excellent Venture Media Promotion' event to widely promote the excellence of venture companies," adding, "We plan to support external promotion of outstanding venture companies in various ways."
