The Seocheon (Seoul-bound) Rest Area of the Boryeong Branch, Jeonbuk Regional Headquarters of Korea Expressway Corporation, announced on September 14 that it has installed and is operating smart fever check devices at the main customer entrances in consideration of customers' anxiety due to the spread of the COVID-19 infection.
If a customer's temperature detected automatically by the smart fever check device is 37 degrees Celsius or higher, it is rechecked with a thermometer, and then the local public health center is contacted. A self-manual has been established to receive support through cooperation with the relevant Korea Expressway Corporation branch office.
In addition, as the possibility of community infection increases with the upcoming Chuseok holiday, measures such as single entry and exit points, handwritten visitor logs, mandatory mask-wearing for all staff, disinfecting all facilities including door handles, customer tables, and restrooms at least twice daily, and placing hand sanitizers throughout the rest area are being implemented to strengthen the best defense as a multi-use facility.
Kim Chan-woo, manager of the Seocheon (Seoul-bound) Rest Area, stated, "Our rest area is making every effort to ensure the safety of visiting customers and to operate as a facility where they can visit with peace of mind. All staff will continue to think and work hard to prevent any blind spots in the rest area."
