The Nation's First Antibacterial Color Steel Plate 'Luxteel Bio' Used as Interior Material for Safe Clinics

Dongkuk Steel's Luxteel Bio was recently selected and installed as wall and ceiling interior materials at the safe clinic of Jeil Hospital in Miryang, Gyeongnam. The construction company is SM Tech. By the end of this month, it is scheduled to be installed as interior materials for the screening clinic at Miryang Public Health Center, and production is underway for additional screening clinics.

Dongkuk Steel's Luxteel Bio is Korea's first antibacterial specialized brand and a color steel sheet certified for various antibacterial properties. Using special metal ceramic antibacterial agents and special additives, it maximizes sterilization and antibacterial effects. It exhibits antibacterial properties against common environmental bacteria such as O-157 Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, as well as inhibiting the growth of bacteria, viruses, and fungi.

Luxteel Bio consists of two product lines: 'Bio Microban,' certified by Microban, the world's number one antibacterial solution company, and 'Bio Premium,' certified by FITI, a domestic antibacterial certification institution.

In particular, Luxteel Bio has an exclusive license agreement with Microban, the world's leading antibacterial solution company, allowing only Dongkuk Steel's color steel sheets in Korea to use Microban antibacterial additives.

Luxteel Bio is widely applied as interior and exterior materials in spaces sensitive to bacteria such as biosimilar factories, operating rooms, food factories, and semiconductor factories. Through special processing, it can be implemented not only in solid color steel sheets but also in various patterned prints and three-dimensional textured color steel sheets, which is a significant advantage as it allows consideration of design.
