Hanwha Life Collaborates with Seoul National University on Digital Finance Key 'Blockchain'

Hanwha Life and Seoul National University Global Engineering Education Center Sign MOU with Blockchain Society 'Decipher'

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] Hanwha Life Insurance signed a tripartite industry-academia cooperation memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the 23rd with Seoul National University Global Engineering Education Center and Seoul National University blockchain professional society ‘Decipher’ to carry out blockchain technology application projects and discover outstanding talents in the blockchain field. Due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the MOU signing ceremony was conducted through document exchange.

Through this agreement, Hanwha Life Insurance conducted blockchain education courses together with the Seoul National University Global Engineering Education Center and the blockchain society ‘Decipher’. In the future, it plans to support Decipher to grow into a global blockchain society by providing Seoul National University students with internship opportunities as well as support for Hanwha Life’s global networking.

Hanwha Life Insurance plans to carry out a project to discover tasks that can apply blockchain technology to the field together with society members through the Seoul National University blockchain regular course opened in the second semester of this year.

The Seoul National University Global Engineering Education Center will provide Hanwha Life employees with the opportunity to audit the ‘Blockchain Practical Application Course,’ an integrated master’s and doctoral program in blockchain, to help derive and apply more practical tasks. In addition to this regular course, the Decipher society offers blockchain trend lectures to Hanwha Life employees to help enhance blockchain knowledge.

Hanwha Life Insurance, Seoul National University Global Engineering Education Center, and Decipher society will continuously promote cooperative projects to discover and apply blockchain technology use cases in a wider range of areas as well as discovering tasks linked to financial products using blockchain technology. Through this, Hanwha Life plans to lay the foundation with blockchain, the key to digital finance.
