[Breaking] Local Infections Continue at Pohang and Gyeongju Nursing Hospitals... 6 More Cases Added

[Asia Economy Reporter Han Seung-gon] Six additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Pohang and Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk. According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 23rd, five cases were confirmed in Pohang and one in Gyeongju the previous day.

Three people in their 70s to 80s in Pohang were hospitalized at Pohang Buk-gu Hyu Nursing Hospital, where confirmed cases had been reported, and tested positive during a full inspection of the hospital. One person in their 20s, a nurse at Pohang Semyung Christian Hospital where cases continued to emerge, was confirmed positive through a full investigation.

One person in their 70s residing in Pohang tested positive after being examined for symptoms of cough and sputum, and health authorities are investigating the route of infection. Additionally, a person in their 30s in Gyeongju, who is a family member of an existing confirmed case, tested positive.

Community infections continue to occur in Pohang and Gyeongju. Since the 11th, 19 community infection cases have been reported in Gyeongju and 18 in Pohang. As of midnight on this day, the cumulative number of confirmed cases in Gyeongbuk is 1,522.
