Nowon-gu to Distribute 2 Million Masks (4 per Person) to All 520,000 Residents Before Chuseok

Distributing 4 KF94 Masks Per Resident to All District Citizens... Delivered with Messages of Support for Overcoming COVID-19 and Wishes for a Safe Chuseok

Nowon-gu to Distribute 2 Million Masks (4 per Person) to All 520,000 Residents Before Chuseok

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will distribute about 2 million KF94 masks, 4 masks per person, to all 520,000 residents ahead of the Chuseok holiday.

This is to emphasize mask-wearing as the recent easing of social distancing to level 2 for the prevention of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) could be mistakenly perceived by residents as a relaxation of quarantine measures, and the five-day holiday period could become a trigger for re-spreading.

The masks to be distributed this time are KF94, with 4 masks per person for all 526,718 residents. Following a non-face-to-face principle, each neighborhood community center prepares envelopes according to the number of household members, and residents can receive them through their home mailboxes. A message encouraging mask-wearing, the "best vaccine," and wishing everyone a happy Chuseok is also included.

The district anticipates that residents will visit local walking trails and parks more frequently due to the social atmosphere discouraging returning to hometowns for Chuseok, and will strengthen quarantine measures in these areas.

Special personnel will be deployed on-site to maintain and disinfect facilities and guide residents to wear masks and maintain social distancing at popular spots such as Danghyeoncheon, Jungnangcheon, Uicheon, and Mokdongcheon walking trails, 121 parks, 16 major hiking trails, Bulamsan Butterfly Garden, Yeongchuksan circular walking trail, and 52 roadside green spaces.

Elevators in five underground passages including Dongil-ro and five overpasses including Gwangwoon University Station will have hand sanitizers and antibacterial films completely replaced on the 29th, with additional disinfection work carried out on the 30th.

District Mayor Oh Seung-rok said, "I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Chuseok by practicing daily quarantine measures such as wearing masks, washing hands, and social distancing," and added, "We will continue to carefully monitor on-site quarantine efforts to prevent the local spread of COVID-19."
