[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-eun] The application period for the 2021 academic year college admissions early decision begins on the 23rd.

Applications will be accepted for six days from today until the 28th, and 198 four-year universities nationwide will select approximately 267,000 new students through early decision. Since the application period and required documents vary by university, it is necessary to check according to the university you wish to apply to.

If accepted through early decision, it is impossible to apply for the regular admission, and the results of the September mock evaluation held on the 16th can serve as a reference for early decision applications.

According to the Korea Institute for Curriculum and Evaluation, the number of applicants for the 2021 academic year College Scholastic Ability Test (CSAT) held on December 3 this year is the lowest ever at 493,433. On the other hand, the ratio of graduates applying for this year's CSAT is 27%, and the proportion of repeat test takers and graduates among applicants recorded the highest in 17 years since the 2004 academic year.
