The epicenter was located at 36.60°N latitude and 129.37°E longitude, with a depth of 15 km.
The instrumental intensity of this earthquake was a maximum of 2 in Gyeongbuk. An instrumental intensity of 2 means that only a few people, usually those in the upper floors of buildings or in quiet conditions, can feel it.
An official from the Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "No damage is expected from this earthquake."
