[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] The prosecution has launched a full-scale investigation into the case in which Yoon Seok-yeol, Prosecutor General's mother-in-law and spouse were accused of fraud and other charges.

According to the legal community on the 22nd, the Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Soon-bae) will summon businessman Jeong Dae-taek, who filed a complaint against Yoon's mother-in-law Choi and wife Kim Geon-hee on charges of fraud and others, as a complainant on the 25th for investigation.

Jeong previously filed a complaint against Choi and others on charges of fraud, claiming that during a lawsuit with Choi, Choi's side forged evidence, causing him to lose the lawsuit and suffer damages.

On the 14th, during a government inspection session at the National Assembly, when Democratic Party lawmaker Jeong Cheong-rae asked about the prosecution's investigation into Yoon's mother-in-law and wife, Minister Chu replied, "I have never seen the prosecution's willingness to investigate."

Also, on the previous day at the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee, in response to Democratic Party lawmaker Shin Dong-geun's criticism that the investigation into Yoon's family was slow, Minister Chu expressed a strong will to investigate, saying, "Through an investigation without sanctuary, economic justice and judicial justice must be restored."
