Gwangyang-si Implements Comprehensive Cleaning Measures for Chuseok

Operation of Comprehensive Situation Room and Major Cleaning on the 24th during Chuseok Holiday Period

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Gwangyang City announced on the 22nd that it will implement a comprehensive cleaning plan to ensure that citizens and holiday visitors can spend the Chuseok holiday in a pleasant environment.

The city plans to conduct a major cleanup on the 24th, focusing on environmentally vulnerable areas such as major roadsides, vacant lots in urban areas, and multi-use facilities, with the participation of about 2,000 people including public officials, related organizations, and citizens.

In addition, through a thorough cleaning and focused management of 186 public restrooms in the region, the city aims to provide a comfortable living environment for citizens and holiday visitors.

During the Chuseok holiday period, a comprehensive situation room will be operated to promptly respond to complaints about garbage collection, and garbage will be collected normally during the holiday period except on Chuseok day and Sunday.

In particular, on Chuseok day and Sunday, two mobile collection teams will be operated to respond to emergency situations.

Kim Jae-hee, head of the Environment Division, said, “To ensure everyone can have a pleasant Chuseok holiday, we ask citizens to refrain from disposing of garbage on the day before Chuseok and to keep the area in front of their homes and surrounding alleys clean.”
