The consultation meeting was organized to pre-check the youth policy budget to be implemented next year from the budget formulation stage, to prepare in advance so that good policies for youth are not hindered due to budget shortages.

The participants shared the youth policies and budgets promoted by the province, communicated sincerely about youth development plans, and exchanged a wide range of opinions.

Lee Hyuk-je, Chairperson of the Budget and Accounts Special Committee of the Provincial Council, said, “Everyone is struggling due to COVID-19, but young people who have not achieved economic stability are having an even harder time. I hope the executive branch will make every effort to reflect youth policies extensively in next year’s budget.” He added, “In particular, I hope the expansion of childbirth encouragement funds by 500,000 won and the payment of 2 million won as marriage congratulatory money will be realized starting next year. I will carefully review whether the youth budget is appropriately allocated during the budget deliberation.”

Chairperson Kim Gyeong-ja said, “Young people are the main actors and hope for the future,” and added, “We will ensure that good policies such as childcare expenses for newborns and marriage congratulatory money among next year’s youth policy budget do not disappear without even starting due to budget issues.”
