Family Center, Together Care Center, National and Public Childcare Centers Secure 1.8 Billion KRW in National Funding
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 22nd that the 'Geochang-gun Family Center Construction Project' was finally selected in the 2021 Life SOC Complex Project contest hosted by the Office for Government Policy Coordination, securing 1.8 billion KRW in national funding.
The Life SOC Complex Project is a government initiative under the 'Life SOC 3-Year Plan' that gathers various facilities closely related to daily life in one place to reduce budget, improve residents' quality of life, promote regional balanced development, and create jobs, achieving multiple benefits at once.
With this contest selection, a total of 7.6 billion KRW will be invested to officially start the construction of the 'Family Center,' a comprehensive town facility that integrates family center service functions with a shared care center, community childcare sharing space, and national/public daycare centers.
Gu In-mo, the mayor of Geochang-gun, said, "Through the construction of the Family Center, we expect to enhance residents' quality of life by providing customized comprehensive services such as family welfare, childcare, and care tailored to the diverse family types and life cycles of family members, making Geochang-gun a family-friendly area where it is good to raise children and live."
The Geochang-gun Family Center will be a three-story building with a total area of 1,960㎡ and is scheduled to be completed in 2022.
