Is There a Reason Why Yongsan-gu Office Employees Are Honest?

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yongsan-gu (District Mayor Seong Jang-hyun) conducted the non-face-to-face integrity education for public officials titled ‘Hello Integrity Comedy Show’ five times from the 15th to the 21st.

This was in accordance with Article 88-2 of the Enforcement Decree of the Act on the Prevention of Corruption and the Establishment and Operation of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission.

The actual performance took place on the 4th. Under the theme ‘Giving Wings to Integrity,’ professional instructors and performers presented integrity lectures, comedy performances, and saxophone music. However, the district allowed only a minimal number of attendees to participate in person due to strengthened social distancing guidelines.

The remaining staff attended the education via YouTube. The district broadcast the same program five times to enable as many employees as possible to participate in the training.

Seong Jang-hyun, Mayor of Yongsan-gu, said, “Since 2016, we have been conducting integrity education for all employees once a year,” adding, “About 1,300 public officials will unite to create an honest city.”

Last month, the district also received positive responses from employees through the non-face-to-face event ‘Challenge! Integrity Ethics Golden Bell.’ In November, the 10th Cheongbaek Public Official Award will be given to employees who contributed to improving organizational culture. Nominations will be accepted until October 23.
