Gokseong Taro is rich in melatonin, making it effective for boosting immune function, and it is perfect for this season when the morning and evening air turns chilly. There is a special reason why people enjoy warm taro soup during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

At Seokgok Nonghyup (Cooperative Head Han Seungjun), the main production area for Gokseong Taro, efforts are being made to improve taro quality through joint sorting and joint shipment centered around nine farms.

By securing contracted quantities at the Nonghyup Anseong Logistics Center, the taro will be jointly settled at prices higher than those of general markets or bulk field sales, gaining positive responses from taro-producing farmers.

An official from the Agricultural Technology Center stated, “We have been striving to mechanize the labor-intensive taro harvesting and post-harvest processes by distributing taro harvesters and taro fine root removers. Moving forward, we will focus on solidifying the joint shipment system to ensure stable income for taro-producing farmers and enhance the price competitiveness of Gokseong Taro.”
