[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Young-gyun] Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 22nd that it has secured 77.3 billion KRW in national funds for next year's government budget.
So far, the county has actively sought to secure national funds by discovering future growth engine industries and current projects since early this year, while responding to unprecedented adversities such as the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and heavy rains, and visiting central government ministries and the National Assembly.
The county's efforts to lay the groundwork for promoting key projects and regional pending projects have led to the achievement of securing large-scale national funds.
As a result of these efforts, 42 projects including vaccine and biopharmaceutical industries, food industries utilizing local agricultural products, and new development projects in rural areas have been reflected in the government budget, establishing a foundation to foster future growth engine industries and regional balanced development.
The projects reflected in the government budget include ▲National Immune Therapy Platform Construction Project (total project cost 46 billion KRW) ▲Research and Development Project for Precision Medicine-Based Customized Diagnostic and Therapeutic Products (15 billion KRW) ▲Functional Home Meal Replacement (HMR) Demonstration and Commercialization Support Center Construction Project (25 billion KRW), which are representative of future growth engine industries.
▲The Hwasun-eup Rural Hub Revitalization Project (18 billion KRW) linked with the Living SOC Complex (Hwasun Generation Solidarity Complex Center Construction) Project ▲Rural New Vitality Plus Project to create a shared economy platform for local food activation (7 billion KRW) ▲Three new general agricultural and fishery village development projects including the City/County Capacity Building Project (300 million KRW) were also included.
A county official said, “We will do our best to secure as much national funding as possible in cooperation with Jeollanam-do, local lawmakers, and related ministries during the remaining National Assembly review period,” and added, “We will also make every effort until the end to ensure that no part is missed in government-led public projects and ministry comprehensive projects.”
