[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Korea Institute of Design Promotion announced on the 22nd that it has joined the support campaign "Hand in Hand" to promote the purchase of products from social economy enterprises struggling due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).


The Hand in Hand campaign proceeds by purchasing products from social economy enterprises, passing them on to other participants (organizations), and spreading supportive messages related to overcoming COVID-19 through social networking services (SNS).


The Korea Institute of Design Promotion joined this campaign upon the nomination of Lee Mikyung, Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency. They purchased a set of Minhwa socks from Soyp Studio and Gangjeong from Gyoadang through the Social Economy Enterprise Product Mall.


They then nominated Choi Insook, Director of the Gangwon Design Promotion Institute, Hwang Changhwa, President of Korea District Heating Corporation, and Son Juseok, Chairman of the Korea Petroleum Management Service, as the next participants and passed on the products.


Yoon Juhyun, President of the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, said, "We hope that this campaign will help social economy enterprises, which are experiencing difficulties due to COVID-19, to overcome the crisis even a little," and added, "We hope this will be an opportunity for more people to learn about social economy enterprises."
