The New Technology and New Product Certification System is a system that certifies excellent technologies developed for the first time domestically as new technologies, and products that have been commercialized by applying new technologies as new products.
Certified new products can receive sales support benefits such as priority and mandatory purchase by public institutions. The National Institute of Technology and Standards is currently promoting the expansion of target public institutions from about 450 to about 900, including local public enterprises under local governments.
In his congratulatory speech, Lee Seung-woo, head of the National Institute of Technology and Standards, said, "Although there are many difficulties in the corporate field due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), I hope the awarded companies will take the lead not only in technology development but also in technological innovation."
He added, "The government will also improve the system by reflecting the voices from the field so that more innovative technologies and products can receive new technology and new product certification, and will expand support for the commercialization of products reflecting certified new technologies."
