[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Bong-ju] Actor Kwon Sang-woo and comedian Kang Sung-beom denied past allegations of overseas gambling.

On the 21st, Kwon Sang-woo's agency, Su Company, stated regarding the gambling allegations raised through the YouTube channel 'Kim Yong-ho Entertainment Chief's' video titled 'Kang Sung-beom Philippine Overseas Gambling Exposure' that the claims are "groundless" and that they will not take legal action.

Previously, YouTuber Kim Yong-ho, a former entertainment reporter, mentioned celebrities' gambling during a live broadcast on his YouTube channel the day before.

Kim Yong-ho claimed, "Kang Sung-beom is a VIP at a Philippine casino. He must be well-known to host such an event," and asserted that Kwon Sang-woo was present at the scene when Shin Jung-hwan was caught at a private gambling venue in Cheongdam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul in the past.

He continued, "The police should have arrested the much more famous Kwon Sang-woo, but they took Shin Jung-hwan instead. Under the protection of an organization, Kwon Sang-woo escaped while only Shin Jung-hwan was caught," and repeatedly insisted on Kwon Sang-woo's gambling allegations, saying, "How unfair Shin Jung-hwan must have felt inside."

Kang Sung-beom also denied overseas gambling allegations through multiple media outlets. He said, "It is true that I hosted an event held at a Philippine casino, but I did not gamble," and added, "I am considering legal action."

In response to Kang Sung-beom's denial, Kim Yong-ho commented on the video on the 21st, saying, "As expected, Kang Sung-beom is lying. He gave a media interview saying, 'Is gambling overseas playing games with the 20,000 won my wife gave me?' I don't know how far the entertainment chief has investigated to make such an easy excuse. He also said he is considering legal action, and I hope he really does. This is getting interesting. Please look forward to the next broadcast. I will make it clear," hinting at further revelations.

Meanwhile, Kang Sung-beom, who debuted as a comedian in SBS's 5th public recruitment in 1996, became famous for his 'Sudaman' character. He currently runs the YouTube channel Kang Sung-beom TV. Kwon Sang-woo will appear in the new drama 'Fly, Gaechonyong' in the second half of the year.
