On the 21st, Geumseong Baekjo announced that it delivered consolation items such as fruits and clothing to welfare facilities in Daejeon, including Seongae Nursing Home, Peace Village Child Welfare Center, and Seongsim Orphanage. The company's Yemi-ji Sarangnanum Volunteer Group conducted a simple outdoor handover of goods to maintain social distancing.
Kim Young-hwan, Vice President of Geumseong Baekjo, said, "I wish I could check on the elders and have a chat, but given the unavoidable circumstances, I feel sorry to only deliver goods and leave. Due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), I understand that family visits to the elders here are also difficult. I hope everyone’s hearts feel close this Chuseok."
Kim Sun-hee, Director of Seongae Nursing Home, said, "Everyone is exhausted due to the prolonged COVID-19 situation. Support from external organizations has also decreased significantly, so we are grateful that Geumseong Baekjo has not forgotten us and has sent their hearts." She added, "Since health and safety are the top priorities, we will do our best to manage the nursing home."
