[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, visited the Cheongnyangni Wholesale Market, where a fire broke out on the morning of the 21st, to inspect the firefighting efforts and assess the damage.

Although there were no casualties in this fire, about 20 stores within the market were destroyed, and property damage occurred, including the burning of ritual items such as apples and pears.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun District, stated, “The fire occurred just before the Chuseok holiday, so the merchants' losses will be even more severe. We will do our best to minimize the merchants' damage through prompt restoration and support as soon as the investigation by the fire department and police is completed.”
