[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] “Please send me some ‘drugs’ by courier.”

A bold drug offender who purchased drugs through Telegram and other SNS in Busan and exchanged them by courier was caught by the police in large numbers.

The Busan Saha Police Station announced on the 21st that they have booked 21 people including A (47) without detention on charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act.

A and 13 others are suspected of advertising narcotics through social networking services (SNS) such as Telegram from September last year to February this year, and trading or being involved in narcotics such as Rush, Zolpidem, and Mulppong.

According to the police, after contacting through SNS, they deposited a certain amount into an account and traded various narcotics by using courier delivery, and used the delivered drugs.

The police are also investigating the owners of the bank accounts used for drug transactions and the people who bought the accounts.

Among the narcotics they traded, the new liquid-type drug known as a sexual stimulant, ‘Rush’, is also reportedly being traded extensively.

This drug is also designated as a temporary Schedule 2 narcotic, and buying, selling, or using it is punishable just like narcotics.

The police also booked without detention five people including methamphetamine offender B, and two people including C on charges of inhaling marijuana and other substances overseas.

B and four others are suspected of buying, selling, and using methamphetamine in the Seogu area of Busan last April.

C and one other were caught by the police on charges of inhaling marijuana and hallucinogens while working as guides for Korean tourists in Da Nang, Vietnam, in March last year.

Earlier, on the 10th, the Busan police arrested a man in his 20s at Incheon Airport in the act of smuggling about 2kg of methamphetamine, enough for 60,000 adults to use simultaneously.
