[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongwook Park] Sangju City, Gyeongbuk announced that Mayor Kang Young-seok produced 50,000 copies each of an appeal letter urging residents to refrain from outings such as visiting relatives during the Chuseok holiday and a leaflet on quarantine guidelines, and distributed them to each household on the 21st.

In the appeal letter, Mayor Kang stated, "The spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) continues to expand," and appealed, "For this Chuseok, please refrain not only from hometown visits by family and acquaintances who have moved away but also from visiting children or relatives living in other regions."

He also reminded operators of high-risk facilities such as entertainment bars, karaoke rooms, and buffets to strictly comply with the gathering restriction orders and COVID-19 prevention guidelines. The quarantine promotion leaflet includes illustrated rules that must be followed in daily life.

Mayor Kang emphasized, "For the safety of families and neighbors and the recovery of the local economy, please strictly observe quarantine rules such as wearing masks, washing hands, regularly using hand sanitizer, and practicing social distancing along with personal hygiene management."

Meanwhile, Sangju City will operate the Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters during the Chuseok holiday to respond to the COVID-19 situation. Since the first confirmed case was reported on February 20, a total of 19 people have tested positive in Sangju City to date.
