[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Dongshin University announced on the 20th that it will recruit 1,605 students across 41 departments in the 2021 academic year early admission from the 23rd to the 28th.
It will select 1,477 students through the regular quota student record screening, 85 students outside the quota, and 43 students through practical skill-based screening.
The student record screening is divided into the general screening (648 students) and regional student screening (65 students), both selecting 100% based on student records, and the interview screening (764 students), which combines 70% student records and 30% interview scores.
The general screening and regional student screening for student records consider 80% academic grades and 20% attendance.
Both screenings apply the minimum CSAT qualification standards only for the Korean Medicine, Nursing, and Physical Therapy departments, and applicants must take the Korean History exam.
The interview screening for student records reflects 56% academic grades, 14% attendance, and 30% interview scores. Considering the COVID-19 situation, interviews will be conducted online and non-face-to-face.
The Korean Medicine, Nursing, and Physical Therapy departments will recruit 10, 30, and 25 students respectively through the regional student screening.
Dongshin University has prepared exceptional scholarship benefits to attract new students.
For early admission general department entrants, tuition fees will be reduced by 15% upon admission for those with an average CSAT grade (4 subjects) up to 6.50, with benefits up to full tuition exemption for 4 years.
First early admission successful applicants will receive study assistance funds ranging from a minimum of 300,000 KRW to a maximum of 2,000,000 KRW depending on their average CSAT grade.
Students whose average grades of reflected subjects in the student record are within the top grade 1 will receive full tuition exemption for the second semester and study assistance funds of 400,000 KRW per semester for 4 semesters.
The departments of Architecture Engineering, Urban Planning, Convergence Information Security, Electrical Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Landscape Architecture, and Computer Engineering, which are conducting the government's 4th Industrial Revolution Innovation Leading University project, will provide full tuition exemption upon admission to first early admission successful applicants, and scholarships ranging from 500,000 KRW to 1,500,000 KRW based on grades to final early admission successful applicants.
