Polytech Daehakgyo to Recruit New Students from the 23rd... "Training Experts in New Industry Fields"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Polytechnic University will recruit new students for the 2-year degree program for the 2021 academic year starting from the 23rd. A total of 7,025 students will be selected from 158 departments across 28 campuses nationwide.

The first early admission period is from September 23 to October 13, and the second early admission period is from November 23 to December 7. The regular admission schedule is planned from January 7 to 18 next year. Anyone who has graduated (or is expected to graduate) from high school or has an equivalent or higher academic background is eligible to apply. Detailed information about new student recruitment can be found by visiting the campus or through the admissions website.

Lee Seok-haeng, Chairman of Polytechnic, stated, "We will support young people to freely challenge new industry fields and grow into professionals, thereby nurturing the human resources necessary for the nation's leap forward in the post-COVID-19 era."

Additionally, Polytechnic is operating the 'Employment 119' system to help graduates who have left the labor market due to the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) quickly return to jobs.

Over the past three years, a survey on employment status, participation in re-education courses, and employment linkage demand was conducted targeting 35,116 graduates of degree and non-degree programs. Based on these results, those who wish are connected to short-term training courses of less than three months.

Jang Hyun-hee, Director of the Vocational Education Research Institute, said, "As the number of job seekers who have given up is at an all-time high, the employment situation is difficult, and with an increase in irregular hiring favoring experienced workers, the job market has become more challenging for job seekers. However, since Polytechnic has responded to industrial structural changes through the establishment and reorganization of departments, it is expected to overcome this year's crisis well."
