Coupang Wins Silver Award from Korea Industrial Manpower Corporation... "Enhancing Delivery Staff Competence"

Coupang won the silver award at the "Outstanding Case Competition for In-house Qualification Assessments" hosted by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea under the Ministry of Employment and Labor. The "CS Delivery Specialist" is the first delivery-related certification in Korea. Employees who join as Coupang Friends receive job training and, upon passing tests including driving theory and practical skills, are awarded the certification. [Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] Coupang announced on the 20th that it won the silver award at the ‘In-house Qualification Assessment Best Practices Competition’ hosted by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea under the Ministry of Employment and Labor.

This excellent company award recognizes Coupang for training over 6,000 specialized CS Delivery Experts, thereby raising the quality of its delivery service to a new level. In particular, Coupang Friends, a job category gaining more attention recently due to the emphasis on non-face-to-face interactions, has nearly doubled its workforce in the first half of this year alone, with more than 10,000 Coupang Friends currently working.

The ‘CS Delivery Expert’ is Korea’s first delivery-related certification introduced in 2019 as part of the in-house qualification assessment certification system, consisting of two levels based on job competency (Fresh-Senior). New hires as Coupang Friends receive job training and, upon passing tests including job theory, driving theory, and driving practical skills, are awarded the CS Delivery Expert Fresh certificate. After meeting a certain length of service and job performance, they can sequentially obtain the CS Delivery Expert Senior certificate by completing educational programs and passing tests. Since the qualification assessment began in May last year, 5,793 people have obtained the CS Delivery Expert Fresh certificate, and 627 have earned the CS Delivery Expert Senior certificate.
