[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jeong-ho] Singer DinDin revealed that he dated Jo Hyun-young, a former member of the girl group Rainbow, for about two weeks during middle school, sparking curiosity.
On the 18th, a video titled "DinDin, this lovely friend, did we date?" was posted on the YouTube channel ‘Jo Hyun-young TV’.
On that day, Jo Hyun-young said, "DinDin and I have been childhood friends living in the same neighborhood since elementary school," and added, "We know each other well."
Previously, DinDin confessed, "I dated Jo Hyun-young for about two weeks in 9th grade." Hearing this, Jo Hyun-young raised her voice, saying, "What are you talking about? When did I ever date you?" DinDin was greatly embarrassed upon hearing this.
DinDin recalled, "I was once partners with Hyun-young. We started dating then, but our personalities didn’t match at all. Just when I thought I couldn’t date Hyun-young, a junior confessed to me. I liked that junior."
He went on, "I lied to Hyun-young through the chatroom, saying, 'My friend likes you, so we probably can’t date.' Hyun-young immediately contacted that friend. After talking, they dated each other right in front of me," which made everyone laugh.
Furthermore, DinDin shared a moment when he was thankful to Jo Hyun-young. He said, "When I was a private soldier, I said Hyun-young was my friend. People around me didn’t believe it. Hyun-young even called them herself and sent dozens of signed CDs. I handed them out to my seniors and spent a comfortable week."
Regarding Jo Hyun-young’s shortcomings, he explained, "She used to be really self-willed. It was so scary that I couldn’t date her. But after debuting and working in society, she seems to have gained some self-control. Also, she is very shy. Still, she’s a kind friend."
When asked whether there can be friendship between men and women, the two answered differently. Jo Hyun-young said it is possible. She said, "I have quite a few male friends around me, and I get along really well with them. I distinguish between people I could possibly date and those I couldn’t, and act differently."
On the other hand, DinDin said, "I don’t think there can be friendship between men and women. If you keep a certain boundary, you can be friends, but it can always collapse. But Hyun-young is a different species. She’s like a man, not a woman," which made everyone laugh.
