Kim Jeong-o, Chairman of Damyang County Council, Appointed Secretary General of the National Association of City, County, and District Council Chairpersons

[Damyang=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yuk-bong] Kim Jeong-o, chairman of the 8th term second half of the Damyang County Council in Jeollanam-do, will serve as the Secretary General of the National Association of Chairpersons of City, County, and District Councils.

According to Damyang County on the 19th, Kim Jeong-o was appointed Secretary General at the 227th Provincial Representatives Meeting of the National Association of Chairpersons of City, County, and District Councils held at the Olympic Parktel in Seoul on the 16th.

The National Association of Chairpersons of City, County, and District Councils is composed of chairpersons of 226 basic local government councils nationwide, and 15 provincial representative chairpersons meet regularly every month to discuss and coordinate regional issues.

Kim Jeong-o said, "I am very pleased to serve as the Secretary General of the National Association," and added, "I will do my best to realize practical decentralization where local residents solve regional problems by themselves and to establish a foundation for autonomous regional growth."

With Kim Jeong-o’s appointment as Secretary General, Damyang County plans to dispatch one Grade 5 (manager-level) public official and one Grade 7 official to the Seoul association.
