[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Gyeongsangbuk-do announced that starting from the 19th, Youth Day, it will launch a project to facilitate meetings between young men and women in collaboration with the Daegu-Gyeongbuk branch of the Korea Population, Health and Welfare Association.

The title of this project is "Cheongchun Namnyeo Dongari," which combines the first letters of the phrase "With the companionship of young men and women, a beautiful connection, the first story." It supports club activities in four regional areas?Pohang, Gumi, Gyeongsan, and Uiseong?targeting unmarried men and women who have limited opportunities to meet the opposite sex due to practical circumstances.

Gyeongbuk Province operates four clubs centered around cooking, DIY workshops, sports, and craft beer workshops, which are popular among the 20s and 30s age group, providing natural opportunities for meetings.

In the first recruitment of clubs held this year, 139 people applied, which is twice the originally planned number. The applicants came from diverse occupations including public officials, corporate employees, financial institutions, hospitals, agriculture, and students. Among them, 56 people were finally selected, including 29 in their 20s and 27 in their 30s.

Last year, during the "Cheongchun Namnyeo Meeting-DAY" events held in spring and autumn, 25 couples were formed out of 55 pairs of participants. However, it is known that these meetings did not lead to continuous relationships.

Considering this, Gyeongbuk Province plans to introduce a new approach this year by having club activities once a week for two months, allowing participants to get to know each other steadily and potentially leading to marriage.

Lee Won-kyung, Director of the Women and Child Happiness Bureau, stated, "Although the value placed on marriage among young people has recently weakened relatively, we will do our best to foster a marriage-friendly atmosphere and improve social awareness so that the youth, who are the future of Gyeongbuk, can nurture happiness through precious connections."
