[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) announced that the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association has delivered 10,000 masks to prevent COVID-19 infection and support small business owners.

On the 18th at 2 PM, a mask handover ceremony was held in the mayor's office with the attendance of Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, Kim In-geun, President of the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association, and four other officials.

On this day, the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association prepared and delivered 10,000 masks to local small business owners and others to help overcome COVID-19.

Cheongnyangni General Market is a wholesale and retail market selling fruits, vegetables, and more. It serves as a distribution hub in eastern Seoul, where high-quality agricultural products can be purchased at affordable prices, attracting many visitors not only from local residents but also from across the country.

The area around Cheongnyangni General Market spans approximately 420,000 square meters, making it the largest traditional market cluster in Seoul. Ahead of the upcoming Chuseok holiday, the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association prepared masks for small business owners to provide a safe shopping environment where both citizens and merchants can shop with peace of mind.

Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, "Although it is the peak season before Chuseok, the economic activities and sentiment remain subdued, making it a difficult situation. We are grateful to the Cheongnyangni General Market Merchants' Association for their warm generosity to support the local economy." He added, "We will ensure that the masks of love delivered are properly distributed to small business owners in the area."
