[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] The air route between Korea and Russia, which has been suspended since last March, will reopen.

On the 18th (local time), the Russian government decided to resume flights on the Moscow-Incheon route starting from the 27th of this month, according to TASS news agency and others. Initially, the Russian state airline Aeroflot is expected to operate about once a week. The ban on Korean nationals entering is also expected to be lifted.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian government banned foreign nationals from entering starting mid-March, and from the end of March, all regular international flights were completely suspended.
