Jegidong 120-104 Area, Plan to Build 423 Apartment Units and Ancillary Facilities Three Years After Association Establishment Approval... Public Inspection Notice at District Office and Association Office Until October 5
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Jegi 6 District Housing Redevelopment Project in the area of 120-104, Jegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu is expected to be actively promoted.
Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor You Deok-yeol) designated the area as a redevelopment zone for the first time in 2009, and after the redevelopment zone and plan were officially announced in 2019, a public inspection notice for the project implementation plan approval of the Jegi 6 District Housing Redevelopment Project will be held until October 5.
According to the project implementation plan, Jegi 6 District will have a floor area ratio of 244.15%, a total floor area of 64,178㎡, and buildings ranging from 3 basement levels to 18 floors above ground (maximum height 53.55m). A total of 423 apartment units, including 73 rental housing units (17.25%), and auxiliary welfare facilities will be constructed.
The site is located at 120-104, Jegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, adjacent to Korea University Station (Line 6) and Cheongnyangni Station (Line 1, Gyeongui-Jungang Line, etc.), placing it at the transportation hub of northeastern Seoul. Nearby are Korea University, Hongpa Elementary School, Junghwa Girls' Middle School, and Seoul National University Affiliated High School, providing an excellent educational environment.
The Jegi 6 District Housing Redevelopment Project Association had been stalled for nearly eight years since the redevelopment zone designation in 2009, but after receiving approval for the establishment of the association in December 2017, it is now on the verge of obtaining project implementation plan approval in about three years.
The public inspection notice can be viewed on the Dongdaemun-gu Office website's announcement board, at the Residential Maintenance Division on the 4th floor of the district office, and at the Jegi 6 District association office. After the announcement period ends, the district office plans to finalize the project implementation plan approval following procedures such as consultation with the Central Land Expropriation Committee.

Mayor You Deok-yeol of Dongdaemun-gu stated, “We hope that the residents of Jegi 6 District, who have suffered from deteriorated housing and parking difficulties, will be able to live in a pleasant residential environment through the smooth promotion of the redevelopment project.”
