Bank of Korea Holds Seminar on Payment and Settlement Regulatory Framework

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunbyeol Kim] The Bank of Korea held a seminar on the theme of "Desirable Improvement Directions for the Domestic Payment and Settlement Legal Framework" on the 17th via a closed video conference.


This seminar was an event aimed at exploring desirable improvement directions for the domestic payment and settlement legal framework and the role of the central bank.


The seminar proceeded in the following order: ▲ "Payment and Settlement Oversight and Supervision Legal Frameworks in Major Countries" (Presentation by Dr. Han Jeong-mi, Korea Legislation Research Institute) ▲ "Recent Overseas Cases of Payment and Settlement Legal Reforms" (Officials from the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and the Monetary Authority of Singapore) ▲ "Recent Discussions and Key Issues on Amendments to the Electronic Financial Transactions Act" (Professor Lee Hyo-kyung, Chungnam National University Law School) ▲ "Improvement Plans for the Domestic Payment and Settlement Legal Framework and the Role of the Central Bank" (Professor Jeong Gyeong-yeong, Sungkyunkwan University Law School).
