[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT, together with Stage Five, Nuwa Robotics, and Ashoka Korea, signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for a joint AI companion robot business' on the 17th to create AI robots.
Through this agreement, the four companies will launch AI companion robots in the first half of next year. The AI companion robots will offer customized services for kids and senior customers, focusing on arm joint movements, head nodding, and interactive content based on Giga Genie AI. The AI robot for children will provide services that can increase children's physical activity. The AI robot for seniors will be equipped with customized content for active seniors, in addition to dementia care, companionship, and medication guidance. For seniors who may find operation difficult, services can be accessed through simple voice commands.
Kim Chae-hee, Head of KT AI/Big Data Business Division (Executive Director), said, “KT will fulfill its responsibility as a national company by providing customized services to overcome the limitations of an aging and contactless era,” and added, “KT will continue to contribute to those in need of social care, such as the elderly and children, through warm AI technology.”
