[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The drama "Zombie Detective," invested in by SK Broadband, is drawing attention with its groundbreaking scheduling of "first IPTV, then terrestrial broadcasting." This breaks the conventional scheduling method where terrestrial broadcasts air first, followed by IPTV releases. It signifies the growing influence of IPTV.

SK Broadband announced on the 17th that its IPTV service "B tv," which invested in the original content Zombie Detective, will release it as video on demand (VOD) at 9:30 PM on the 19th.

Zombie Detective is a content project jointly produced and invested in by SK Broadband, KBS, and the over-the-top (OTT) service Wavve to strengthen B tv's content competitiveness. The human thriller comedy drama follows a second-year zombie who has been resurrected and becomes a detective, tracking cases from the past and present. It is planned as a 12-episode series in line with the recent global trend of seasonal drama production.

Until now, the typical content distribution method was to air live broadcasts first on terrestrial channels and then provide them as VOD on IPTV after a certain period. This time, they are attempting to release two episodes simultaneously as VOD on IPTV and OTT ahead of terrestrial broadcasting. B tv and Wavve will each provide two episodes as VOD on the 19th, and KBS 2TV will broadcast the series every Monday and Tuesday at 9:30 PM starting from the 21st.

Zombie Detective can be watched without additional purchase if subscribers have B tv’s movie subscription "OCEAN" or the terrestrial subscription. Non-subscribers can also watch by purchasing individual VOD episodes. It is also available through SK Broadband’s B tv cable service.

To strengthen content competitiveness, SK Broadband launched the movie subscription OCEAN in July, which includes the largest collection of the latest domestic movies and foreign dramas in Korea. Additionally, aiming to be a media platform that can be comfortably enjoyed anytime and anywhere with core values of family, happiness, and sharing, B tv was revamped as "Lovely B tv." Starting with Zombie Detective, SK Broadband plans to expand investment in original content production.

Kim Hyuk, Head of Media Strategy at SK Broadband, said, "Zombie Detective will be a new challenge and beginning for B tv," adding, "We will continue to produce original content in various genres such as dramas, entertainment, and documentaries to enhance the brand value of Lovely B tv."
