[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Seongdong-gu (Mayor Jung Won-oh) has filmed an urban regeneration promotional video with the global girl group CLC, affiliated with the local company Cube Entertainment, and started online service from the 17th.


Due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, the district shifted its face-to-face promotional methods to online. Through a business agreement with Cube Entertainment, which has rich cultural infrastructure, they produced the 'Seongdong Urban Regeneration Hot Spot' video, allowing viewers to enjoy key urban regeneration locations on YouTube.


This video features the 7-member girl idol group CLC performing street dance to music reflecting the characteristics of five urban regeneration areas: Seongsu-dong, Majang-dong, Yongdap-dong, Sageun-dong, and Songjeong-dong, showcasing major spots in each area.


In particular, to avoid the feeling that the video was planned by the district, it was produced in a stylish music video format in collaboration with the media commerce company KVLY (Kaebeulli), making it enjoyable for various generations.


A district official said, “CLC, who recently demonstrated global popularity by ranking 6th on the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart with their new song ‘HELICOPTER,’ is a familiar idol group to local residents through their agency’s self-produced variety show ‘Seongdong-gu Residents CLC’ on YouTube. We made efforts to blend each member’s charm well with Seongdong-gu’s urban regeneration locations.”


Seongsu-dong, the mecca of urban regeneration, captures the feeling of traveling through an urban resting space harmonized with nature, while Majang-dong, centered around the Majang Livestock Market where urban regeneration is underway, focuses on the dynamic market scenes combined with CLC’s powerful dance.


Additionally, the video features vivid scenes with songs and dances reflecting the beautiful scenery of Songjeong Embankment and the atmosphere of various urban regeneration sites such as Yongdap-dong, creating content that allows viewers to see the urban regeneration areas at a glance without visiting.


CLC leader Seungyeon said, “CLC members also live in Seongdong-gu and think it’s a really great neighborhood. We are happy and honored to have this opportunity to introduce Seongdong-gu to many people. Through filming, we got to know Seongdong-gu better and had a good experience visiting places we hadn’t been to before.”


The promotional video can be viewed online from the 17th via Seongdong-gu Office and Cube Entertainment’s official YouTube and other SNS channels, and will also be broadcast on the external wall media canvas ‘Hologram’ at Seongsu Industrial Innovation Space from 6 PM to 9 PM.

Mayor Jung Won-oh said, “Through this promotional video, residents can vividly enjoy the scenes of various urban regeneration areas from their homes, and it will be a good opportunity to introduce Seongdong-gu to overseas Hallyu fans. Although urban regeneration projects require active communication with residents, which is difficult these days due to COVID-19, we will strive to continue active exchanges through the production and trial of various online contents.”
