[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The September mock exam held on the 16th was analyzed to have been administered at a level similar to or slightly easier than last year's CSAT, without any high-difficulty questions.
In the Korean language section, similar to the June mock exam, most admissions experts generally analyzed that it was slightly easier than or comparable to last year's CSAT. In the non-literature part, questions related to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were also included.
Lim Seong-ho, CEO of Jongro Academy Haneul Education, stated, "Overall, the EBS linkage was certain, and the level was somewhat easier than last year's CSAT," adding, "It seems that the evaluation institute's policy to maintain a similar level to previous years has been upheld."
The mathematics section was analyzed to be similar to or slightly easier than last year's CSAT. For Type A, question 21 involved graphs of sine and cosine functions, and question 30 covered differentiation of exponential functions and the equation of tangents.
The English section, which is graded on an absolute scale, was also evaluated to have been administered at a difficulty level similar to last year's CSAT. No new question types appeared, and with an EBS linkage rate of 73.3%, the highest among subjects, it is analyzed that this helped significantly reduce students' burden.
In this September mock exam, the proportion of repeat test-takers was high, leading the admissions industry to predict that the dominance of repeat test-takers will continue in this year's CSAT as well.
CEO Lim said, "The proportion of repeat test-takers based on the September mock exam is usually 12?14%, but last year it was the highest in 10 years at 16.4%, and this mock exam was 16.0%," adding, "Considering the COVID-19 situation, the proportion of repeat test-takers in the CSAT is likely to be at last year's level or higher, so the dominance of repeat test-takers is expected to continue."
