Meanwhile, allegations have arisen that the passenger tried to persuade the driver to give favorable testimony by offering to pay the settlement money on her behalf.
According to a report by YTN on the 16th, B (47), who was riding in the vehicle with the drunk driver A (33), said during police investigation, "I don't remember why I didn't stop A."
Later, an acquaintance of B sent a text message to A, saying, "What could have been a simple case is now becoming more complicated," and added, "This shouldn't be happening. Let's say the settlement money is whatever it is, but don't you think you are not capable of handling this?"
They continued, "If oppa (B) is booked as a suspect, he won't be able to help you. Becoming enemies won't lessen your responsibility at all," attempting to persuade A.

During the police investigation, A claimed that instead of defending B, he ignored her suggestion to call a designated driver and forced her to drive.
If A's claim is true, B would face charges not just for aiding and abetting but also for incitement, which would increase the severity of the punishment.
The police have obtained the text messages and launched an additional investigation.
Earlier, at around 12:55 a.m. on the 9th, A is accused of driving a Mercedes-Benz passenger car while intoxicated near Eulwangri Beach in Jung-gu, Incheon, and hitting a 50-year-old breadwinner who was delivering chicken on a motorcycle, resulting in his death.
At the time, both A and passenger B were in the vehicle, and it was reported that both were intoxicated.
