Recruitment for the 3rd Children and Youth Assembly Participants until October 8... Conducting Policy-related Legislative Activities for Children and Youth for One Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Seon-gap) is recruiting participants for the "3rd Gwangjin-gu Children and Youth Council" until October 8th to promote active participation and autonomous activities of children and youth in the district's administration.
The recruitment target is 30 children and youth aged 9 to under 19 who either reside in Gwangjin-gu or attend schools located in the district.
The activity period is one year, from October this year to September next year.
Students selected as members of the Children and Youth Council will receive education on children's rights and council operations, then form a chairperson group and standing committees to begin autonomous activities.
Additionally, the students will hold two regular meetings to share opinions on children and youth policies and budgets, and continue activities such as policy proposals and discussions.
During the activity period, volunteer hours will be granted through the 1365 Volunteer Portal for community contribution activities such as campaigns and volunteer work. Students who faithfully participate in the council during their one-year term will be issued a certificate of completion.
Students wishing to participate can fill out an application form and submit it by visiting, faxing, or emailing the Gwangjin-gu Education Support Division by October 8th.
For more details, please contact the Education Support Division.
Mayor Kim Seon-gap said, “To encourage growing children and youth to take an interest in local issues and actively participate in district administration, we are operating the 3rd Children and Youth Council by expanding the participation target from those aged 14 and above to children aged 9 and above this year. I hope this will be a special experience for students, who will be the future leaders, to learn democratic decision-making and directly discover policies.”
