[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 16th, Sangju City in Gyeongbuk announced that Mr. Yuk Man-su, CEO of Cheonghak Industry Co., Ltd., has joined the 'Honor Society,' a group of individual high-value donors contributing over 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea, as the 5th member from the Sangju area (120th in Gyeongbuk).
CEO Yuk Man-su established Cheonghak Industry in July 1981 and participated in development projects such as Cheonghak Building, Hyundai 41 Tower, and Mokdong Central Prugio. In 2003, he founded the Cheonghak Foundation and practiced sharing management by providing scholarships to 250 students until 2019, supporting neighbors in need.
At the membership ceremony held on the 15th, CEO Yuk pledged, "I will continue steady support and sharing practices to assist those waiting for help due to COVID-19 and flood damage, as well as neighbors in difficult situations within welfare blind spots."
Mayor Kang Young-seok of Sangju said, "With the spirit of 'Jonsim Aemul' (存心愛物), meaning that if you have a loving heart, you help others, I sincerely hope that the culture of sharing and giving will spread," and added, "I am grateful for your participation in the 'future Sangju,' a historically resilient city thriving together with neighbors who are struggling and in hardship."
Meanwhile, the 'Honor Society' members from the Sangju area already include: No. 1 Daesung Food CEO Park Dong-gi in 2016, No. 2 Paris Baguette Terminal Branch CEO Choi Ik-jo in 2017, No. 3 Eunja Gol Takbaegi CEO Im Joo-won in 2018, and No. 4 Kanna Co., Ltd. CEO Lee Sang-bae in 2020.
