This is the best 9-hole course in the global golf community. Recently, Golf.com in the United States selected the 'best 9-hole courses in the world' through a panel of 88 judges. Royal Worlington & Newmarket GC, located in Suffolk, southeastern England, ranked first. It is a golf course created by Tom Dunn in 1893. Although it is a 9-hole course, it operates on a membership basis. With various bunkers, hazards, and challenging greens, there is no chance to get bored.
Whitinsville GC in Whitinsville, Massachusetts, USA, ranked second. It is a 1952 work by Donald Ross. The layout is simple, and local residents enjoy playing there without stress. Culver Academies GC ranked third. William Langford built it in 1932 in Culver, Indiana, USA. Above all, its architectural method is impressive. It preserves the natural terrain as it is.
The Dunes Club ranked fourth. It is a course designed by Dick Nugent in 1991 in New Buffalo, Michigan, USA. It is interesting that it was built on rough land covered with sand and shrubs. Obstacles act as elements that add fun. Leckford Old Course ranked fifth. It is located in Hampshire, England. It is a work by Harry Colt who renovated Muirfield. Each hole requires a different strategic approach.
Reigate Heath GC ranked sixth. Dunn completed it in 1895 in Surrey, England. Pine, birch, oak, and wild blueberry colonies catch the eye, and there is a windmill near the clubhouse, giving a Dutch feel. Sweetens Cove GC made it to seventh place. King Collins focused on the scenery around South Pittsburg, Tennessee, USA. The fact that there are no rules on the golf course is also unique.
Edgartown GC, created by Connie Lee in 1926 in Edgartown, Massachusetts, USA, ranked eighth. You can experience various charms through multiple teeing grounds. However, the fescue planted in the rough is ruthless. In addition, Dick Wilson's 1964 Sunnylands Rancho Mirage in California, USA ranked ninth, and Michael Doherty's 1986 Cruit Island GC in Donegal, Ireland ranked tenth.
