Busan police announced on the 15th that after conducting a primary investigation of the driver, he admitted to smoking marijuana inside the car.

The police estimate that the driver caused the seven-vehicle pileup while in a hallucinatory state and plan to conduct an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident, including EDR analysis.

Mr. A caused the first accident by hitting an Audi vehicle around 500 meters away from the seven-vehicle pileup site at 5:42 p.m. the previous day near the old Sponge complex building area in Haeundae. After fleeing about 500 meters, he collided with another vehicle ahead in the Jung-dong underpass.

He then fled about 70 meters further before causing the seven-vehicle pileup at the Jung-dong intersection.

A police official stated, “In the first accident, the Porsche hit the left side of an Audi passenger car that was stopped on the road, and while fleeing, caused a second accident by rear-ending a Taurus vehicle in the underpass.”

At the site of the third accident involving seven vehicles, it was revealed that the Porsche collided with seven vehicles including motorcycles, passenger cars, and city buses while traveling about 150 to 160 meters in just 2 to 3 seconds.

It appears that the driver engaged in a reckless rampage, repeatedly colliding with vehicles at speeds of at least 140 km/h on a road with a speed limit of 50 km/h.

The victims of the seven-vehicle pileup have no life-threatening injuries, but seven people sustained various injuries, including one person seriously injured, and are receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.
