On the 14th, Mr. Choi posted on Instagram, "I apologize for my one-sided violent attitude toward my sister (Sulli)'s friends during the past time, for showing violent language and impure attitudes amid many arguments, for neglecting the fact that rumors caused by me were spread, and for the way I treated my sister's friends."

He continued, "Our family has been out of contact with my sister for quite some time," and said, "I also apologize for my words and actions that caused misunderstandings and falsely accused my sister's friends."

He then concluded the apology by saying, "I apologize for my misconduct in abusing the attention received from my sister's fans and the public to engage in obscene and impure behavior, and for continuing wrong actions with short-sighted thinking. I will reflect and live accordingly from now on."

The post has attracted public attention because Mr. Choi initially targeted Sulli's friends by saying, "Friends who I respected at that time are like this? Are they really friends who know well?" but deleted the post and posted an apology within a day.

The conflict between Mr. Choi and Sulli's friends arose after the MBC documentary 'Docuplex' aired on the 10th, titled "Why Were You Uncomfortable with Sulli?"

After Sulli's mother gave an interview on the show stating, "Sulli grew distant from the family after starting to date," a friend identified as A, who claimed to have been Sulli's friend for 15 years, expressed anger on social media, saying, "Sulli cut ties because of family issues, so why say it was because of dating?"

A said, "Jin-ri (Sulli) said, 'I gave all the money I earned since elementary school to my mother, but there is no money saved,'" and added, "Aren't Jin-ri's two older brothers adults? Later, Mr. Choi posted a cryptic message saying, "At a time when we should be most devastated, those XXs were so eager to film 'That’s What I Want to Know' (a TV program), who gave them permission?" and "Do you really think you have the capacity to handle the truth? If the truth is revealed, countless people will get hurt."
