[Asia Economy Reporter Jihee Kim] BMW Korea announced on the 14th that it will launch the mobile application-based ‘My BMW’ app, which provides vehicle status and remote control functions.
The My BMW app, launched simultaneously in markets worldwide including Korea, allows users to check their vehicle’s current fuel level, battery charge status, warning lights, parking location, and other vehicle conditions in real time via smartphone. It also enables remote control functions such as locking and unlocking the vehicle, interior ventilation, and heating or cooling.
After searching for a destination in the My BMW app and sending it to the vehicle, users can receive route guidance through the vehicle’s navigation system. The maps used for destination search and input were developed in collaboration with SK Telecom’s T map, providing the latest information and real-time maps.
Additionally, the app includes a service that provides real-time BMW-related news, and various features will be added through future updates.
Meanwhile, BMW Korea offers services encompassing overall lifestyle through the integrated application platform ‘MY BMW APPS.’ BMW Plus allows users to book and manage BMW services in real time, and the industry’s first blockchain-based lifestyle platform, the BMW Vantage app, is scheduled to be launched in October.
