In Mokpo, Jeonnam, 3 Dead and 4 Seriously Injured in Unlicensed Traffic Accident

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] A traffic accident occurred on a road in Mokpo, Jeonnam, where a rental car driven by an unlicensed high school student collided with a passenger car, resulting in 3 deaths and 4 serious injuries.

According to the Mokpo Police Station on the 14th, at around 11:42 PM on the 13th, a Sonata passenger car carrying high school students and a K7 passenger car collided head-on on a road in Sang-dong, Mokpo City. Among the five high school students in the Sonata, two died and the other passengers were seriously injured.

One passenger in the K7 also died, and two other occupants were seriously injured and transported to the hospital.

The police have determined that all the rental car occupants were high school students too young to obtain a driver's license, and that they rented the car using a stolen driver's license.

The K7 vehicle was being driven by a designated driver.

The police are investigating the rental car driver and the exact circumstances of the accident based on black box footage and other evidence.
