GS Fresh Mall, an online grocery shopping mall operated by GS Retail, received the grand prize again this year in the fresh food shopping mall category at the National Service Awards selected by the Industrial Strategy & Policy Institute (ISP) on the 10th. The award recognized GS Fresh Mall for providing differentiated products, offering customer-tailored benefits using big data, and delivering optimized customer services. The National Service Award is given by the Industrial Strategy & Policy Institute to companies and institutions loved by consumers in each industry through a public selection process.
Under the slogan "Korea's No.1 Shopping Mall," GS Fresh Mall offers an optimized logistics network including same-day, dawn, and 24-hour late-night delivery services for fresh products ordered through its dedicated shopping application and affiliated malls. Thanks to the popularity of differentiated products such as the meal kit brand "Simply Cook" and "Uwolhanwoo" (premium Korean beef), the number of visitors in the first half of this year increased by 71% compared to the previous year, and new customer registrations grew by 112%.
The representative differentiated product, the meal kit brand "Simply Cook," guarantees the freshest quality by starting production immediately when orders are placed before 10 p.m. "Uwolhanwoo," which is provided exclusively from Korean beef raised on GS Retail designated farms, offers reasonable prices through a one-stop process from slaughter to processing without a separate auction process, leading to continuous purchases.
In response to the increase in customers using online shopping malls due to the COVID-19 pandemic, GS Fresh Mall plans to open an additional large-scale automated logistics center to enhance delivery services and provide Korea's best fresh products.
To celebrate winning the National Service Award, GS Fresh Mall will hold a customer event. From 5 p.m. on the 11th to 5 p.m. on the 15th of this month, seafood such as octopus, Hanam jjukkumi (baby octopus), and Shine Muscat grapes, as well as seasonal fruits, will be sold at discounts of up to 40%. Prices for pre-grilled makchang (beef large intestines) and bulmakchang (spicy grilled beef large intestines) will also be discounted by up to 43%.
