[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] KT will conduct pre-orders for Samsung Electronics’ new Galaxy Z series models, the ‘Galaxy Z Fold2 5G’ and ‘Galaxy Z Flip 5G,’ over five days from the 11th to the 15th. Customers who subscribe to a 5G plan can also enjoy unlimited Netflix viewing. Reservations can be made at KT stores nationwide and the official online mall KT Shop, with pre-order activations starting on the 15th and the official launch on the 18th.
According to KT on the 10th, the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G will be released as a single 256GB model in two colors: ▲Mystic Bronze and ▲Mystic Black. The Z Fold2 features a significantly larger front screen compared to its predecessor, with a 7.6-inch display when unfolded and a 6.2-inch display when folded. It is equipped with five cameras capable of professional-level photography (three on the rear, two on the front). The Galaxy Z Flip 5G supports the new 5G network and features a matte finish that prevents fingerprint smudges. It will be available in three colors: ▲Mystic Bronze, ▲Mystic Gray, and ▲Mystic White.
Both the Z Fold2 and Z Flip 5G come with a ‘Slim Cover’ as a standard accessory. The price of the Z Fold2 is 2,398,000 KRW (VAT included), and the Z Flip 5G is priced at 1,650,000 KRW (VAT included).
Three Months of Unlimited Netflix Benefits
KT customers can use the ‘Super Plan Plus’ tariff to enjoy unlimited 5G data and content. Unlimited 5G data is provided as a basic feature. Customers can choose two services each month from video (Season Mix), music (Genie Smart Music Listening), VR (Super VR Pass), and web novels/webtoons (Blythe Story). When applying selection contracts and premium family bundling, customers can receive up to a 50% discount. The Super Plan Plus tariff is available for subscription until the 25th of this month.
Especially, customers subscribing to Super Plan Special Plus or higher will receive the Netflix Standard plan worth 12,000 KRW per month free for three months, allowing unlimited viewing of Korean original content, global TV series, and various other content. The Netflix promotion can be easily applied for on the KT.com event page.
Worry-Free with Foldable Phone Exclusive Insurance
KT customers can reduce the purchase burden of the Z Fold2 and Z Flip 5G by receiving up to 1,080,000 KRW in discounts through partnership card double discounts. Using the ‘Super DC2 Hyundai Card’ provides a monthly discount of 30,000 KRW on communication fees for 24 months, totaling 720,000 KRW (for customers with no Hyundai Card usage in the past six months, monthly spending over 700,000 KRW, and automatic payment completed). Additionally, using the ‘Super Installment Woori Card’ with a monthly spending of over 300,000 KRW grants a monthly discount of 15,000 KRW on communication fees for 24 months, totaling 360,000 KRW. Benefits from both partnership cards can be applied simultaneously.
Customers who purchase the Z Fold2 and Z Flip 5G by the end of October can use the manufacturer’s special trade-in promotion to receive up to 200,000 KRW more in trade-in value for their existing devices. Since trade-in prices vary by device model, inquiries should be made at each store.
Additionally, KT customers can use the foldable phone insurance product (Super Ansim) to use the Galaxy Z Fold2 without worries about loss or damage. The Super Ansim ‘F-VVIP’ plan covers up to 2,300,000 KRW, with a deductible of 30% of the smaller amount between the maximum insured amount or the damage cost in case of loss or damage. The monthly premium is 9,300 KRW. Customers purchasing the Z Flip 5G can use the Super Ansim ‘F-Platinum’ plan, which covers up to 1,400,000 KRW with a monthly premium of 6,300 KRW. KT Super Ansim, including F-VVIP and F-Platinum, is notable for also covering battery replacement.
