"Introducing Sightseeing Tour Flight Packages for the General Public Based on COVID-19 Trends"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] As part of overcoming the crisis caused by the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), Air Busan will conduct its first "flight without a destination." Air Busan plans to prepare products for the general public depending on the COVID-19 situation and also aims to operate short-distance international routes.
On the afternoon of the 10th, Air Busan announced that flight BX8910, carrying 79 students from the Department of Aviation Tourism at Uiduk University, will depart from Gimhae International Airport, fly over Pohang, Seoul, Gwangju, and Jeju, and then return to Gimhae Airport for a circular flight.
The students participating in this program will tour the training facilities inside the Air Busan headquarters and have a Q&A session with active cabin crew members. Additionally, after observing the actual flight and a joint briefing by the cabin crew, the students will move to the airport to experience in-flight takeoff and landing preparations, in-flight announcements, and passenger service on the experience flight.
To ensure a safe flight experience, Air Busan plans to comply with quarantine rules such as continuous temperature checks for participants, mandatory wearing of masks and gloves onboard, and socially distanced seating arrangements.
Air Busan envisions offering such circular flight products to the general public once the COVID-19 situation stabilizes. In particular, Air Busan is considering operating not only domestic routes but also short-distance international routes to countries such as Japan and Taiwan. An Air Busan official added, "If products are developed for international routes, in-flight duty-free sales will also be possible, which is expected to attract significant customer interest."
