[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] The 'Partial Amendment Ordinance of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Urban Corporation Establishment Ordinance,' proposed by Kim Gwang-ran, a member of the Gwangju Metropolitan Council (Democratic Party, Gwangsan 4), passed the relevant standing committee review on the 7th.
The amended ordinance expands the business scope of the Gwangju Metropolitan City Urban Corporation to include projects such as 'urban regeneration,' 'housing welfare,' and 'new renewable energy,' and revises provisions to address some deficiencies found in the ordinance's operation and to comply with the 'Easy-to-Understand Legal Maintenance Standards.'
Through the amendment of the ordinance, the Urban Corporation will add 10 new business areas, expanding its scope to include land acquisition, development, stockpiling, supply and management projects, new renewable energy projects, urban regeneration projects, redevelopment promotion projects, housing welfare projects, vacant house maintenance projects, market maintenance projects, station area development projects, smart city construction projects, and real estate development projects.
Councilor Kim Gwang-ran stated, "Next year, the goal is to create a decarbonized communal housing model that responds to the climate crisis, such as green remodeling and energy transition," adding, "Through this ordinance amendment, we expect not only to increase support for vulnerable housing households but also to expand the installation of new renewable energy."
